THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start for all runners. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey G Lerena reported that MALEDIMO (6.10 lengths) made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning CLOTH OF ICE (P Strydom), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority with effect 30.08.2020 - 28.10.2020, both dates inclusive. Trainer P Peter was advised. c) At the 200m, DUBAWI PRINCESS (W Kennedy) was carried out by LOVE BOMB (S Veale) which shifted out away from the crop. d) Jockey D de Gouveia signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse ANYTHING GOES more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey D de Gouveia, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey De Gouveia struck the horse ANYTHING GOES, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey de Gouveia used his crop, the fact that this was a Grade 1 race and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. e) ANYTHING GOES the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Pettigrew advised (ML). f) WAR OF ATHENA (S Khumalo) placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P Matchett advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey C Zackey was the rider of GRANADILLA (reserve runner - advised 07h43/29.08.2020). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
