THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ALLOWAY GROVE (M Byleveld) lifted both front shoes on the way to the start, which had to be refitted. b) DANCES ON WAVES (S Cele) was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run. c) The bridle on FLY TO RIO (G Behr) was replaced. A member of the stipendiary board examined the bridle post-race and found it to be in a satisfactory condition. d) ALLOWAY GROVE (M Byleveld), JO LOVES (*L Tarentaal) and DO ANGEELS CRY were slow into stride THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the events at the start. b) DO ANGELS CRY (O Noach), FLY TO RIO (G Behr), LA BANQUIERE (*J Solomons) and TWO FOR THE ROAD (J Bekker) raced green. c) In view of the performance of DANCES ON WAVES (S Cele), which finished tailed off, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer ELP Steyn was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. d) SOCIAL BUTTERFLY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (BM) e) QUEEN NIYABAH (A Domeyer), the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee W Mynhaardt was advised.
