TIDE REPORT was stubborn and very difficult to load. GUN SLINGER was restless in the stalls. SAN JULIAN BAY, ROYAL ZULU GUARD (AUS) and QUEEN OF CREDIT were slow into stride. VARIETY ROMP and BLACK JAGUAR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BELUGA BERRY rolled outwards slightly under pressure carrying GUN SLINGER outwards slightly, which resulted in GUN SLINGER having to ease and QUEEN OF CREDIT being carried outwards at approximately the 350-metre mark. Thereafter BELUGA BERRY rolled inwards slightly approaching the 200-metre mark, which resulted in TIDE REPORT and ROYAL ZULU GUARD (AUS) making contact with each other for a number of strides. Apprentice Ngwane, the rider of BELUGA BERRY, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in races in future. In view of the Starter's report concerning TIDE REPORT, the starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. Apprentice Arries, the rider of BONSAI, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. Vet: QUEEN OF CREDIT - coughing.
