There was a delay to the start of the 3rd Race as a result of the farrier having to replace the left fore shoe on VICTORY TAKEOVER at the start. SEATOPS was difficult to load. MISS BRODY was stubborn to load. VICTORY TAKEOVER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Starter's report concerning SEATOPS, the starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. RUSSIAN GIRL became severely cramped for galloping room on the inside of ROY'S FOLLY at approximately the 1100 metre mark as a result of ROY'S FOLLY shifting in. Apprentice Ngwane signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that as the rider of ROY'S FOLLY he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his inside shortly after the start. Apprentice Ngwane was suspended for a period of seven days. Apprentice de Gouveia reported TIMEOUS was not striding out freely in running. SEATOPS shifted inwards slightly at approximately the 800-metre mark, resulting in ROY'S FOLLY, who was over-racing, having to be eased. Shortly thereafter at approximately the 700-metre mark VICTORY TAKEOVER shifted inwards carrying SEATOPS inwards, which resulted in HOSANNA being cramped for galloping room and having to be eased off the heels of SEATOPS. This in turn led to RUSSIAN GIRL having to ease off the heels of HOSANNA for a number of strides. Jockey Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of VICTORY TAKEOVER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to runners on his on his inside at approximately the 700-metre mark. Jockey Lerena was suspended for a period of seven days. ROY'S FOLLY raced wide on the bend and into the straight. Apprentice Arries, the rider of HOSANNA, had a satisfactory qualifying ride.
