CONSEQUENTIALLY and GYPSY'S INN were slow, losing 1 length. TIKI TORCH was slow into stride. In view of the performance from HERMOSO MUNDO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer Laird was requested to report back on the condition of HERMOSO MUNDO on return to the stables. Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of EQUATOR, and Apprentice Hewitson, the rider of ORIENTAL BLUE, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. In the concluding stages TAEGAN'S JET had to steady for a number of strides when tightened for galloping room between LET IT RAIN and COMMODORE AL, which rolled out marginally. At approximately the 300m HERMOSO MUNDO, TIKI TORCH and EQUATOR were carried out by CONSEQUENTIALLY, which shifted out marginally. Shortly after the start EQUATOR and CONSEQUENTIALLY came together and bumped. Shortly after the start LET IT RAIN and JET FEVER came together and bumped. COMMODORE AL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: HERMOSO MUNDO, EQUATOR and ORIENTAL BLUE - examined post race, no significant findings.
