MATSURI and BONDIBLU were slow into stride. CHRISTMAS CAROL over-raced in the early stages. MATSURI over-raced in the early stages. Apprentice Hewitson reported that this mare did not stride out freely in running. LEOPARD LILY switched out to continue its run at the 350m. SNOWDONIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of SNOWDONIA, Trainer Peter explained to the board that this filly had a tendency to over-race and that in today's race they fitted a more severe bit in an attempt to get SNOWDONIA to settle. In his opinion, the change of equipment accounted for the improvement and he has undertaken to race this filly similarly equipped in the future. Vet: SISTERS OF MERCY - abnormal respiratory noise. MATSURI - not striding out left hind.
