THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISS VENEZUELA (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) COTOPAXI (C Habib) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with LEGAL STAR in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LEGAL STAR and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P F Matchett advised (NHA). c) ANATURA (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S J Gray advised (DR). When questioned regarding this filly's poor performance on 13 August 2020, Trainer Gray could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) LEGAL STAR was ridden by Jockey S Khumalo. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LEGAL STAR bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60 day suspension. Trainer P F Matchett advised (NHA). THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
