THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE 30 MINUTE INTERVAL BETWEEN RACES. THE STARTER REPORTED A) BENEFICIARY was nervous in the stalls. B) DELINA rushed the front gates. C) SCOLDING was stubborn loading. D) NATURAL JADE rushed the front gates and was nervous in the stalls. E) SHINE A LIGHT, ESCAPE TO VEGAS and HONEY SUITE were slow into stride. F) ROSALINA kicked the back gate in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey G Cheyne reported that DELINA shortened stride significantly from the 150m and as a consequence, Jockey G Cheyne did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A C Greeff will be requested to report back on the condition of this filly upon return to the stables. B) ROSALINA (D Schwarz) commenced to overrace in the early stages and as a consequence raced wide around the turn and into the straight and compounded from the 200m. C) The winner VALERIANA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM).
