The start of this Race was delayed due to the withdrawal of OCTOBER ELEVENTH and to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. Apprentice Ngcobo reported that CAPE SISKIN took no interest in running. Jockey Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with JUSTASH in running. WESTERN FORCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Prinsloo was questioned regarding the improved performance of WESTERN FORCE. The only explanation he could offer was that he had removed the blinkers for today's race which, in his opinion, had assisted the rider in being able to settle WESTERN FORCE in the early stages. The Board have adjourned to review the patrol films of this gelding's previous run and advised Trainer Prinsloo to race WESTERN FORCE without blinkers in future. Vet: CAPE SISKIN - not striding out right front. JUSTASH - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: OCTOBER ELEVENTH - not striding out left front. ELEGANT GENT - suspected virus.
