Jockey Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with HEADLINE in running. At approximately the 400m RIPARIAN was momentarily inconvenienced when tightened for galloping room between RAVEN'S CHAMP and SCHOLAR PATROL. At approximately the 300m AIR FORCE LEGEND was bumped by DEVADIP, which rolled out. Thereafter in the concluding stages, DEVADIP was bumped by AIR FORCE LEGEND, which rolled in. An objection was lodged by Trainer Kenny, the trainer of AIR FORCE LEGEND, placed second, against DEVADIP being declared the winner on the grounds of interference and intimidation from the 300m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the incident complained of, was of the opinion that AIR FORCE LEGEND would not have beaten DEVADIP and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judges' result to stand. Trainer S W Kenny's objection deposit fee was refunded. In the concluding stages TERN UNSTONED, which shifted out away from the crop, bumped FANTASY VIEW, which was hanging in. DEVADIP was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: HEADLINE - fatigued. Scratched: PHUMAPHAMBILI - coughing.
