THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO CASUAL WEAR PROVING RELUCTANT PROCEEDING TO THE START. TRAINER J H STRYDOM WAS ADVISED THAT SHOULD THIS MARE BEHAVE IN A SIMILAR MANNER IN FUTURE, SHE MAY BE SUSPENDED. THE STARTER REPORTED A) CASUAL WEAR was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey J Mariba signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding the horse BOLD DREAMER, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed. B) Jockeys S Fortune (BASILICA SANTO) and D De Gouveia (RECONNAISSANCE) reported that their respective mounts took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey C Storey reported that THE GREEK SOLDIER made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon.
