THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AWILDA (*B Nyambo) was slow into stride and jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) WINTER MISSION (*D Cooper) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After the running of this race the Clerk of Scales reported that Work Rider V Sithetho, the rider of SHOWDOWN KID, had weighed in at 59,3kg which was more than 0,5kg below the weight at which he was declared out (60kg). The Clerk of Scales lodged an objection against SHOWDOWN KID in terms of NHA Rule 68.2.11 and the objection board, after taking evidence from all parties concerned, upheld the objection and in terms of Rule 69.7 ruled that SHOWDOWN KID be disqualified. An inquiry will be opened into this incident. b) SHOWDOWN KID (*V Sithetho), first past the winning post, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (DR). c) VARS JY (*G Dadamasi), second past the winning post, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S M Naidoo advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
