Jockey Strydom, the rider of BLACK ARTHUR, and Jockey Domeyer, the rider of HELDERBERG BLUE, reported that they felt something amiss with their mounts in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses on their return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Trainers Snaith and Mrs Bass-Robinson were requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on their respective horses' conditions on their return to the stables. LEGAL EAGLE and MARINARESCO were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BLACK ARTHUR and HELDERBERG BLUE - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
