DO THE TWIST, ISLAND VIEW and JOYPHILLYPIST proved stubborn and difficult to load, which caused a delay to the start of this race. FLYING RUSSIAN and DO THE TWIST were stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer Azzie and Trainer Peter were advised to re-school their horses prior to their next engagements. JOYPHILLYPIST was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. He was suspended for a period of seven days until recertified tractable. ISLAND VIEW was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. He was suspended for a period of seven days. Shortly after the start, DO THE TWIST was awkwardly placed between FURIOSA (AUS) and PAYNE'S GREY and thereafter commenced to over-race. FURIOSA (AUS) and FLYING RUSSIAN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Delpech was dislodged from PAYNE'S GREY in the pull-up area after the running of race 2. He was attended to by the medical staff in the Medical Centre and was incapacitated from weighing in. The Board deemed that the correct weight was carried. Vet: PAYNE'S GREY - coughing. Scratched: CHILI LIME and TORRE DEL ORO - insufficient recovery time.
