LADY WILLOW, BLACK JADE and LEOPARD ORCHID were nervous in the stalls. EMERALD ROSE and TRIPPVILIA were slow away and lost 1 length each. Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. EMERALD ROSE compounded at the 100-metre mark and Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with this filly thereafter. Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with KILLALA in the closing stages. Jockey Zackey reported SPEEDY SUZY choked up in the running. SOUTH SIDE and LADY WILLOW were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SPEEDY SUZY - check post race, nothing obvious detected. LEOPARD ORCHID - speedy cut right fore. EMERALD ROSE - coughed post race. BLACK JADE and LADY WILLOW - blood in mouth. KILLALA - lame right hind.
