SAIL FOR JOY and WINTER AL were restless in the stalls. MOMBELA lost 1 length. Apprentice Hewitson, the rider of ANGEL'S POWER, and Jockey Fortune, the rider of DUKE NUKEM, reported that their respective mounts made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with SAIL FOR JOY in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. Trainer Kenny was requested to report back on the condition of SAIL FOR JOY on return to the stables. At approximately the 400m DUKE NUKEM had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between ANGEL'S POWER, which rolled out marginally, and MOMBELA, which was hanging in from the 450m. SPORTING MONARCH was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of RIBOVAR, which was hanging in from the 200m. MOMBELA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. AL AZRAQ raced unshod. DUKE NUKEM raced without a tongue tie. SAIL FOR JOY raced equipped with a pressure halter. Vet: ANGEL'S POWER, DUKE NUKEM and MOMBELA - abnormal respiratory noise. SAIL FOR JOY - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: DRAGON'S BREATH - change of venue.
