SEMONKONG and BLACK JAGUAR lost 1 length. ROY'S TAXI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Naidoo was questioned regarding the improved performance of ROY'S TAXI, the winner, compared to this gelding's previous run on the 11.12.2016. Mr Naidoo explained to the Board that in this gelding's previous run, the field in the Chapter Challenge Race was of a far stronger calibre than the race tonight and that the soft underfoot track conditions that prevailed on that occasion had accounted for the poor performance. Mr Naidoo's explanation has been noted. GOOGLE ME over-raced in the early stages. HARRY DA WHEELS over-raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter was hanging in, in the straight. BLACK JAGUAR was hanging in, in the latter stages. In view of the performances of BLACK JAGUAR and HARRY DA WHEELS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. WILLOUGHTON raced fitted with steels. ROY'S TAXI raced without cheek-pieces. SUMMIT raced fitted with a Cornell collar. Vet: BLACK JAGUAR - coughing. HARRY DA WHEELS - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: DESTINED FOR DAWN - virus.
