AFRICA RISING jumped outwards and carried BISHOP'S BOUNTY outwards, squeezing out CRAVEN, which lost one length. The off time was rescheduled at the request of Phumelela. Jockey Strydom reported that ZODIAC RULER (AUS) changed stride continually and he did not persevere with this riding in the latter stages. In view of the performances from GUNNER and CRAVEN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses on their return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. HACK GREEN was cramped for galloping room in a tightly bunched field at about the 1400m. WILLIAM LONGSWORD and GOLD STANDARD were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GUNNER and ZODIAC RULER (AUS) - inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. CRAVEN - returned having cast the left fore shoe. Scratched: A NEW DAWN (AUS) - insufficient recovery time.
