Jockey van der Merwe did not ride at today's meeting due to a misunderstanding after the 9th Race which was abandoned at the Scottsville Race Meeting on the 11th December 2016 was carried forward to today's race meeting. SEATTLE SPELL was slow into stride. SPICE ROADS lost 1 length. BRIGHT DELIGHT and MAIN FLYER lost 2 lengths. ROY'S AMAZING ASH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Due to the performance of MAIN FLYER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Godden reported that BRIGHT DELIGHT was making an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Vet: BRIGHT DELIGHT and SEATTLE SPELL - abnormal respiratory noise. MAIN FLYER - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: UP AND UNDER - not eating up. MY BOY WILLIE - overreached right fore.
