MISS MARKER jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. SUPERCILIOUS was slow into stride. Jockey Behr reported that FROMAFAR did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance from DIXIE EXPRESS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Orffer was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse AL DANZA more than three times on consecutive strides shortly before the finish. Jockey Orffer signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. SUPERCILIOUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FROMAFAR and DIXIE EXPRESS - inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. Scratched: RED LIGHT GIRL - coughing.
