Jockey Simons (medically indisposed) did not ride at today's race meeting. He was replaced on his mounts. LADY OF THE WORLD was stubborn loading. MUSIC MAKER and DIAMOND NOIR were restless in the stalls. ANY DAY BABY was restless in the stalls and jumped inwards. OMO POWER and QUEST D'ORE lost 1 length. Jockey van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with DIAMOND NOIR in running and eased this filly out of the race at the 600m. When questioned regarding his ride on DIAMOND NOIR, Jockey van der Merwe explained to the Board that this filly had felt uncomfortable and was not striding out freely in running. The patrol film of this race was viewed in the presence of the Veterinary Surgeon, who confirmed that DIAMOND NOIR did not appear to be moving freely in the race. Assistant Trainer van Zyl was requested to report back on the condition of this filly on return to the stables. GUNSHIP was hanging in from the 200m. LADY OF THE WORLD was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DIAMOND NOIR - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. OMO POWER - scalped right hind. QUEST D'ORE - speedy cut left front and left hind.
