THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SO FLAWLESS (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the request of the racing operator, the first race was delayed due to technical issues. b) Approaching the 700m, VARIETY BREEZE (G Cheyne) had to steady when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WHAT A FLIGHT (*J Solomons). c) RAIN IN NEWMARKET (R Fourie) raced green and switched out at the 150m. d) Jockey G van Niekerk, the rider of STUCK ON YOU, reported that his saddle slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a stipendiary steward. e) Jockey C Orffer, the rider of HELLO TOMORROW which was hanging in in the straight, reported that this filly took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. f) SO FLAWLESS (A Domeyer) raced green. g) STUCK ON YOU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
