IMPACT ZONE, DHAAMER and ROY'S HORSE (AUS) were all slow into stride. BERMUDA and NIGHT LOCK both lost 1 length. ROCKEFELLER was restless in the stalls. ARCTIC TEON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Forster was questioned regarding the improved performance of ARCTIC TEON compared to this gelding's previous run on the 7.12.2016 over 1600 metres. Mr Forster explained that in his opinion this gelding is better suited to the longer distance of today's race now that he is racing against winners. Mr Forster has undertaken to race ARCTIC TEON over similar distances in his future engagements and the future performances of this gelding will be monitored. NIGHT CIRCUS shifted in resulting in NIGHT LOCK, who was over-racing, being eased off the heels of NIGHT CIRCUS at approximately the 1800 metre mark. Jockey Winnaar, the rider of NIGHT CIRCUS, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to ensure that he does not cause interference when shifting ground in races in future. ONE MAN SHOW raced wide in the early stages. Apprentice Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with IN THE MOMENT in running. Due to the performance of BERMUDA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. ROY'S HORSE (AUS) raced without cheek-pieces. Vet: SON OF SILVER - girth rub right hand side. IN THE MOMENT and BERMUDA - nothing obvious detected. ROCKEFELLER - blowing. Scratched: JAY AGAIN - strained muscle left hind.
