OUTSHINE was slow losing one length. DOOSRA was difficult to load. LOTUS ELAN reared in the stalls. Assistant Trainer Spies was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. A race review was called into the start of this race and it was established that LOTUS ELAN in stall gate 1 had reared shortly before the start was effected and was restrained by the handler assigned to him as the gates were released. This resulted in LOTUS ELAN losing a significant amount of ground. The board declared this gelding a non-runner. Shortly after the start, FURIOSA (AUS) was awkwardly placed between SPORTING MONARCH, which jumped out, and DOOSRA, which jumped in. Thereafter as a consequence of this, FURIOSA (AUS) clipped the heels of DOOSRA. The Board was satisfied that this was a racing incident and that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider and therefore took no further action. SPORTING MONARCH was hanging in, in the concluding stages. DOOSRA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DAFFIQ raced without alumites. Scratched: LOTUS ELAN - declared a non-runner.
