THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CATCHING STARS (J Bekker) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) CUT GLASS (*J Solomons) and BALLROOM BLISS (G van Niekerk) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) Approaching the 1000m, DUPLICITY (A Domeyer) had to check off the heels of BALLROOM BLISS (G van Niekerk), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. REGINA ISABELLA (R Fourie), which was racing on the inside of DUPLICITY (A Domeyer), was tightened for galloping room and had to steady as a consequence. Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of BALLROOM BLISS he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to DUPLICITY and REGINA ISABELLA approaching the 1000m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 09/09/2020 to 15/09/2020 inclusive) c) Jockey G Behr, the rider of PIP TO THE POST, reported that this filly was not striding out. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) BALLROOM BLISS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass- Robinson was advised.
