RIVER AYRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Roscoe was questioned with regard to the improved performance of RIVER AYRE compared to this filly's previous performance on the 11 December 2016. She explained that the fitting of the blinkers and the shorter distance of tonight's race, in her opinion, had accounted for the improvement shown. She was further of the opinion that RIVER AYRE was unsuited to the soft underfoot track condition that prevailed in her previous performance. The Board noted her explanation. In view of the performances of STARWIN and MARGOT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. MUNGO CHERRY was hanging in, in the latter stages. Vet: STARWIN - not striding out left fore. MARGOT - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: BYE BYE BABY - heat left fore fetlock joint. LUNAR TIDE - insufficient recovery time.
