The start of this Race was delayed due to PALACE WIND (D Dillon) being restless in the stalls and KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) being fractious in the stalls, unloaded, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) was restless in the stalls and lost 3 lengths.
b) PALACE WIND (D Dillon) was restless in the stalls.
c) ABSOLUTIST (A Arries) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) A race review, pertaining to KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) drawn in stall gate 5, was called into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that, as the start was effected, KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) reared in the stalls. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that any distance lost by this gelding was as a result of its own behaviour. Therefore, no further action was taken and KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy) was deemed to be a runner.
b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to KING'S SPEAR (W Kennedy), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 07.09.20 to the 13.09.20. KING'S SPEAR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G H van Zyl was advised. (SN)
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PALACE WIND (D Dillon), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. e) The All Clear to this Race was delayed due to a power outage.
f) IRONTAIL (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Clarke acting on behalf Trainer G Puller advised (ML).

a) KEVIN'S PATH raced with pacifiers (advised 06.09.20/7h27).
b) GINGER ALLEY was ridden by Jockey J Samuel. Reserve runner (advised 05.09.20/7h37).

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
