The start of this race was delayed due to ATOMIC BELLE proving stubborn loading. The starting stalls certificate for this filly was withdrawn. COUNTESS NABEELA lost 1 length. In view of the Starter's report with regard to ATOMIC BELLE, this filly was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the starting stalls. WATCH MY DUST cast its left front shoe in running. Shortly after the start WATCH MY DUST, REDBERRY LANE and SOLAR QUEST came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between ROARING FORTIES, which jumped in, and GREY'S DELIGHT, which was carried out by EVERSILVER, which jumped out. The Board reviewed the start of this race and was satisfied that this was a racing incident and that blame could not be apportioned to any individual rider. Jockey Khumalo reported that as a result of this incident REDBERRY LANE took no interest in running. Apprentice Hewitson reported that the saddle on SOLAR QUEST slipped back in running. COUNTESS NABEELA was hanging in from the 200m. Jockey Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention, read with Guideline 1 on overweight, in that he weighed back in at 59.2kg, 1.2kg in excess of the weight at which he weighed out at 58.4kg. EMILY JAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ROARING FORTIES - blowing heavily post race. REDBERRY LANE - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: STREET AFFAIR and EMPRESS CATHERINE - insufficient recovery time.
