Jockey Fortune (injured knee), Jockey Mariba (family responsibility) and Jockey Marwing (flight delayed after Met day gallops) did not ride at today's racemeeting. They were replaced on their mounts. The start of this race was delayed due to JAY ZEE proving difficult to load. JAY ZEE was stubborn loading and restless in the stalls. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. LEE'S PICK was restless in the stalls. Trainer Wiid was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. HANDSOME HENRY (AUS) lost one length. ARTIFICIO and SHOE SHINE were stubborn loading. Trainer Stenger and Trainer Gray were advised to re-school their horses prior to their next engagements. An inquiry will be opened to establish why LOVER'S LEGACY had to ease at approximately the 500m. Jockey Sampson reported that LEE'S PICK injured its head in the starting stalls. Leaving the 400m THUNDER APPLAUSE was carried out marginally by ARTIFICIO, which rolled out. In view of the Starter's report, JAY ZEE was suspended for seven days. He may not be presented for re-passing during this period. SPACE TORNADO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SPACE TORNADO was ridden by Jockey Danielson. Permission was given for this jockey change as Jockey Lerena was unable to get an earlier flight from Cape Town after participation in the Met day gallops. JAY ZEE and LEE'S PICK raced without a tongue tie. Vet: LOVER'S LEGACY and YOUNG EAGLE - abnormal respiratory noise. LEE'S PICK - abrasions on head from stalls. Scratched: DRIVING RAIN - no valid starting stall certificate. When investigating this matter, it was established that the NHA database had not been updated after this horse lost its starting stall certificate when racing at Fairview on the 21st of November 2016 and Trainer Spies had not been advised, therefore the Board took no further action.
