THE GREAT DUCHESS proved stubborn to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter, which caused a delay to the start of this race. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. HEAR THE STORM squeezed out shortly after the start. Jockey Danielson reported that EL MALEK did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 700m. In view of the performance of HEAR THE STORM, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. GUNSHIP and ROMAN EVENING were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Starter's report, THE GREAT DUCHESS was suspended for seven days. She may not be presented for re-passing during this period. ROMAN EVENING raced without alumites. Vet: EL MALEK - lame right front. SINGASWEWIN - abnormal respiratory noise. HEAR THE STORM - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: SEVENTH OF JUNE (AUS) - shin sore. THE GREAT DUCHESS - intractable.
