SEATTLE LADY was slow into stride. Apprentice Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with OFF THE MARK in running. BELLA SONATA was hanging in, in the concluding stages. Leaving the 100m SWIFT SARAH had to ease when carried out by JUNGLE MIST, which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board; this was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey Khumalo, the rider of the 2nd placed horse, SWIFT SARAH, against the winner, JUNGLE MIST, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol films of the race and giving regard to the evidence put forward by the respective parties during the objection hearing, was of the opinion that the result had been affected by this incident and that SWIFT SARAH would have finished ahead of JUNGLE MIST had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the objection and amended the Judges result accordingly. JUNGLE MIST, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: OFF THE MARK - not striding out right front. JUNGLE MIST and EASY STREET - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: CAPTAIN'S GIRL - under veterinary treatment.
