LIGHT CHASER had to be resaddled at the start. I LIVED was fractious in the stalls, broke the front gate open, was taken out and reloaded causing a delay. BUTTERFLY SPIRIT was restless in the stalls. RIVERBOAT QUEEN was stubborn loading. In view of the above reports from the Starter, Trainer Ramsden will be advised that the starting stall certificate for I LIVED has been withdrawn. Trainer Crawford will be advised to have BUTTERFLY SPIRIT re-schooled before her next engagement, and Trainer Nel will be advised to have RIVERBOAT QUEEN re-schooled before her next engagement. Jockey Domeyer, the rider of RIVERBOAT QUEEN, appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the filly's poor performance. He explained that this filly had travelled well in the early stages of the race but when he had asked her for a finishing effort she had quickly lost ground to the field. He could offer no reasonable explanation which would account for the filly's performance today. In view of the performance from RIVERBOAT QUEEN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Trainer Nel will be advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the filly's condition on her return to the stable. SCORPION QUEEN was awkwardly placed on the heels of ROCK ON RUBY at about the 700m. LIGHT CHASER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: LIGHT CHASER - examined at the start small cut on left stifle and declared fit to race. RIVERBOAT QUEEN - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
