ALPINE GLACIER, ZORTZIKO and STARCRAFT PRINCE (AUS) were restless in the stalls. Trainer Ferreira, Trainer Janse van Vuuren and Trainer Dawson were advised to re-school their respective horses prior to their next engagements. SPRING STEEL lost 1 length. HEYWOT jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. Shortly after the start KAPELLMEISTER was awkwardly placed between STARCRAFT PRINCE (AUS) and THEWAYWEMAKEM, which was carried out by JOEY PIPER. Jockey Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to keep his mount, JOEY PIPER, on a straight course parallel to the running rail and relative to the drawn position until a point not less than 200 metres from the start. The left side starting stalls gate of stall gate number 6 struck Jockey Zackey's left arm as the start was effected. At approximately the 350m ALPINE GLACIER clipped the heels of COSMIC COUNT when awkwardly placed between QUATTRO, which rolled in marginally, and COSMIC COUNT, which shifted out away from the crop marginally and was immediately straightened. BARBEL RUN shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. SIDE SHOW was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SPRING STEEL raced equipped with alumite bar shoes in front, alumites behind. VARS PRIDE raced equipped with a pressure halter. Vet: JOEY PIPER - abnormal respiratory noise. SIDE SHOW - speedy cut right hind. THEWAYWEMAKEM - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
