ORION QUEST cast the right fore shoe on the way to the start and was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. LA FAVOURARI broke through the front gate, was immediately restrained, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was reloaded, causing a delay. ZUD WES was restless in the stalls. RIBOVAR jumped awkwardly losing two lengths and was slow into stride. In view of the report from the Starter concerning LA FAVOURARI, Trainer Nel will be advised that this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn. ZUD WES was momentarily held up for a clear run approaching the 200m. CAPTAIN SWAROVSKI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DESERT FIGHTER - returned having cast the right fore shoe. LA FAVOURARI - examined at the start and declared fit to race. CUBAN EMERALD - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: ORION QUEST - cast the right fore shoe and was lame on the right fore and withdrawn at the start.
