Shortly before the finish line COUNT TASSILO and FAREEQ (AUS) came together and bumped when COUNT TASSILO shifted in marginally. Jockey Murray, the rider of FAREEQ (AUS), placed second, lodged an objection against COUNT TASSILO, being declared the winner, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the incident, was of the opinion that FAREEQ (AUS) would not have finished in front of COUNT TASSILO and could not be comfortably satisfied that the result had been affected and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the judge's result to stand. Jockey Murray's objection deposit fee was refunded. ACT OF LOYALTY (AUS) cast its right front shoe in running. COUNT TASSILO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: BELENOS - sold without engagements. AMSTERDAM - abnormal blood count. GOLDEN MAN - insufficient recovery time. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
