THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EARTH STAR (*X Jacobs) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) NOBLE RHYTHM (*J Solomons) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ALFRED'S GIRL (O Noach) and MAJOR ATTRACTION (R Fourie) brushed at the 400m. b) MAUSSANE (G van Niekerk) was carried out marginally by MAJOR ATTRACTION (R Fourie) at the 250m. c) Leaving the 300m, MISS MILLSTREAM (J Bekker) rolled out and carried ALFRED'S GIRL (O Noach) outwards slightly. Thereafter MISS MILLSTREAM (J Bekker) rolled in away from ALFRED'S GIRL (O Noach). Simultaneously WINDSOR BEAT (C Zackey), which was hanging out, rolled out and carried EARTH STAR (*J Solomons) out. This resulted in FAYE (M Byleveld), which was attempting a narrow run between EARTH STAR (*J Solomons) and MISS MILLSTREAM (J Bekker), having to check off the heels of MISS MILLSTREAM (J Bekker), losing position and a tiring EARTH STAR (*X Jacobs) becoming awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINDSOR BEAT (C Zackey) approaching the 200m. After reviewing this incident, the Stewards were satisfied no individual rider could be held responsible for this incident. d) MAJOR ATTRACTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
