UNCHAINED MELODY lost 1 length. BONO cast its right hind shoe in running and was hanging in from the 150m. Workrider Mosia reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. Workrider Gwingwizha reported that he felt something amiss with SHARP LINK in running and did not persevere with his ride in the concluding stages. At approximately the 150m UNCHAINED MELODY was carried in slightly by CASA DE VAR, which rolled inwards. An objection was lodged by Trainer Peter on behalf of the second placed horse, UNCHAINED MELODY, against the winner, CASA DE VAR, on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the various connections and reviewing the patrol film of the incident complained of, was of the opinion that UNCHAINED MELODY would not have finished in front of CASA DE VAR and allowed the judges' result to stand. Trainer Peter's deposit was refunded. CASA DE VAR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CASA DE VAR raced without a tongue tie. Vet: BONO - lame left front; cut into left hind. SHARP LINK - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. RUNNING FURY - abnormal respiratory noise.
