AIR SALUTE, KAYKAYNOKNIDS and OSUNA lost 1 length. WARNEY dwelt losing 5 lengths. Trainer Mahiakola advised to re-school this gelding. STRAW MAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Puller was questioned regarding the improved performance of STRAW MAN, the winner. He explained to the Board that this gelding is better suited to the longer distance of today's race. Mr Puller has undertaken to race STRAW MAN over similar distances in future. His explanation was noted. Passing the 1600 metre mark STARSKY shifted in, resulting in STRAW MAN having to ease off the heels of STARSKY. This resulted in OLLIE POTTS and AIR SALUTE having to be eased. Jockey Godden signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of STARSKY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to STAW MAN, OLLIE POTTS and AIR SALUTE at approximately the 1600 metre mark. OSUNA returned post race having cast the right hind shoe. STARSKY did not race fitted with cheek-pieces. Scratched: CLOUD RACER - insufficient recovery time.
