THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ARTIC TUNE (W Kennedy) refused to load and was withdrawn.
b) GREY VIEW (R Danielson) was squeezed out.
c) ARCTIC REFUGE (A Arries) and EL TORERO (S Veale) lost 1 length, respectively.
d) KOBENS EXPRESS (*T Gumede) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ARTIC TUNE (W Kennedy), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion on a race day. Suspension dates: 10.09.20 to the 16.09.20. ARTIC TUNE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer Gareth van Zyl was advised. (SN)
b) PATRONAGE (S Moodley) raced awkwardly in the straight.
c) Jockey S Randolph reported that SWEET CHIN MUSIC (20.35 lengths) took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) Trainer M Roberts signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1, in that he failed to ensure that the owners colours were available for the horse PATRONAGE. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed.
e) HIGHER PURPOSE (L Hewitson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Bosch advised (ML).
