KARATAGE was restless in the stalls, was removed, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. HALLOWED SPRING lost 1 length. JUST RAP and SARABI were both slow into stride. ROY'S FOLLY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Due to the performance of SARABI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. KINGSVIEW was hanging in and shifted in approximately 7 horse-widths making contact with the inside running rail due to Apprentice Mbhele failing to take corrective measures. Apprentice Mbhele signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he failed to ride KINGSVIEW in a competent manner by allowing his mount to shift some 7 horse-widths without correction which resulted in this mare making contact with the inside running rail at approximately the 300-metre mark. Apprentice Mbhele was suspended for a period of 7 days. Jockey Lembethe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he used his crop in an unnecessary manner by striking SERVAL when she was out of contention for a place and showing no response. Vet: KARATAGE - coughing. SARABI - fatigued. KINGSVIEW - nothing obvious detected. Trainer Mitchley advised to report back. Scratched: ART ATTACK - examined at the start and found to be not striding out right fore and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
