The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. EMILY JAY was stubborn loading. Trainer Wiid was advised to re-school this filly prior to its next engagement. CRANBERRY CRUSH reared in the stalls. Trainer Erasmus was advised to re-school this filly prior to its next engagement. DUCHESS CATHERINE, BIRD ALLEY and CAPE INFANTA were slow into stride. Jockey Fortune reported that he felt something amiss with TURN BACK TIME in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. Jockey Sampson reported that he felt something amiss with BEAUTIFUL FLAUTIST in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. Jockey Khumalo reported that DALLEY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and did not persevere with his ride from the 350m. BIRD ALLEY shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. BONDIBLU was hanging out in the concluding stages. BALALAIKA shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. BALALAIKA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of BALALAIKA, Assistant Trainer Moore explained to the Board that the softer track conditions of today's race accounted for the improvement. Vet: TURN BACK TIME - not striding out left front. EMILY JAY - tied up. BEAUTIFUL FLAUTIST - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. DALLEY - no respiratory noise detected post race. Scratched: PARISIENNE CHIC - Stewards permission (no suitable jockey available). YOUNG FLIRT - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
