THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DANCING ARABIAN (G Lerena) and TAMELETJIE (J Penny) were slow losing one length. b) BAHLEBONKE (*J R Syster) was bumped by IN HASTE (*K Matsunyane) which jumped in leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LOVING THE VICTORY (C Zackey) raced green. b) TAMELETJIE (J Penny) hung out throughout c) BAHLEBONKE (*J R Syster) took an awkward stride at the 800m. d) In the concluding stages Jockey M Yeni's (MAY QUEEN) crop was accidentally struck out of his hand by Jockey D Schwarz (VESEO). e) SAMOA (S Brown), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer S Patterson, acting on behalf of Trainer B H Stidolph, advised (AH). f) When questioned regarding SAMOA's poor's performance on the 30th August 2020, Assistant Trainer S Patterson explained that from a wide draw, they attempted to tuck her in and race her from off the pace. In today's race they had allowed her to stride freely and in his opinion this mare is better suited to racing from a handy position, this had accounted for the improvement. He has undertaken to use similar tactics going forward. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MAY QUEEN was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 9 September 2020 at 08H58). b) TAMELETJIE was ridden by Jockey J Penny (declared 10 September 2020 at 07H19). c) ANEKSI was ridden by Jockey A Domeyer (declared 10 September 2020 at 07H47). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DANCING ARABIAN raced with a compression mask (declared 3 September 2020 at 13H54). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ANEKSI speedy cut left hind.
