EVIL WOMAN, DIAMONDINTHEDARK and GIMME NOW were slow away and lost 2 lengths each. CONQUERING QUEEN was pulling in the early stages and Jockey van der Merwe reported that this mare tired in the closing stages. Jockey Minnie reported that DIAMONDINTHEDARK made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Jockey Maujean reported that LADY LINDA was not striding out freely in the running. Jockey King reported that STONE TOWN made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Apprentice Hewitson reported that FANTASY QUEST tired in the closing stages and he did not persevere with his ride. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine and nothing obvious was detected. Apprentice Hewitson was brought before the Board, shown the patrol films and reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the finish of the race. EVIL WOMAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. EVIL WOMAN raced with a full set of alumites. Vet: CONQUERING QUEEN - not striding out right front. DIAMONDINTHEDARK - coughed post race. LADY LINDA and FANTASY QUEST - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. STONE TOWN - abnormal respiratory noise.
