STRAWBERRY LIPS was slow away and lost 1 length. Jockey Khathi reported that STRAWBERRY LIPS took no interest in the running. Jockey Thackeray reported that SHAMAL made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. NIGHT DANCER steadied on two occasions entering the first turn at the 1200 metre mark. TIME TRIPPER compounded passing the 200 metre mark. RUSTIC SUNRISE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer McLachlan was questioned regarding the improved performance of RUSTIC SUNRISE compared to his previous race on the 23/12/2016. Assistant Trainer McLachlan could offer no suitable explanation and the Board will review the patrol film of this filly's previous race. Vet: STRAWBERRY LIPS, TIME TRIPPER and SHAMAL - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: INVISIBLE JUICE - not eating up. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
