The start of the 3rd Race was delayed as result of the withdrawal of JOSHUA'S ANSWER at the start. The field was unloaded to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets. JOSHUA'S ANSWER rushed the gates and then reared over. ROY'S GUL GUL HA lost 1 length. ASTROMAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. In view of the Starter's Report concerning JOSHUA'S ANSWER, the starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable with a companion. BELUGA BERRY became cramped for galloping room on the inside of HEPTAGON shortly after the start was effected. Apprentice Moodley, the rider of DANCER IN THE DARK, reported his saddle clipped the back in running. In view of the performance of DANCER IN THE DARK, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. MIDNIGHT MAN returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. Apprentice Sakayi, the rider of ROY'S GUL GUL HA, had a satisfactory qualifying ride. Vet: DANCER IN THE DARK - not striding out right fore. Scratched: JOSHUA'S ANSWER - examined at the start, injured head in stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
