NITROGEN pulled its left front shoe at the start and was attended to by the course farrier. Thereafter ALWAYS A LADY broke through the front gate, was restrained by the Handler, and returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. These incidents caused a delay to the start of this Race. ALWAYS A LADY broke through the front gate, was restrained by the Handler, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. SHWANKY was slow into stride. In view of the Starter's report, ALWAYS A LADY has been suspended for thirty days. She may not be presented for re-passing during this period. KIRKCONNEL LASS was hanging out from the 300m. At approximately the 200m ALWAYS A LADY was awkwardly placed between SECRET VISION and HONOLUA BAY, which rolled in marginally. Thereafter Jockey Lerena did not persevere with his ride. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine ALWAYS A LADY. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with SHIVERING SEA in running. INYANGA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SHIVERING SEA - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ALWAYS A LADY - in season. Scratched: INTRIGUING LADY (AUS), GAIN GROUND and CLARET CUP - insufficient recovery time. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
