STEP OUT stumbled shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the improved performance from CHISANYAMA (AUS) today, compared to the filly's previous run on 28/12/2016 when she finished 17.75 lengths behind the winner over 2000m at Kenilworth, Assistant Trainer Sobotker, acting on behalf of Trainer Ramsden, told the Stewards that the filly had run a very disappointing race, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon post race, was examined on her return to the stable and no obvious abnormalities were detected to explain her poor performance. The stable had then decided to give the filly a rest. The Board reviewed the race of 28 December 2016 and the video evidence showed the filly trailed the field throughout and was not competitive at any stage. The evidence appears to confirm the report from Jockey Noach that the filly had taken no interest in running. The Board adjourned to gather more evidence from Jockey Noach, and advised the Assistant Trainer on the Rule pertaining to inconsistent running. The Board noted that CHISNAYAMA (AUS) had been fitted with a tongue tie for her race today and has advised that the filly should race equipped with a tongue tie in her future races. After concluding the aforesaid interview this filly's future performances will be monitored. MAKE THE MAGNET was held up for a clear run for a number of strides on the heels of KEEP THE FAITH approaching the 200m. KEEP THE FAITH and STEP OUT were hanging out in the latter stages. In view of the performance from AMATORI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. CHISANYAMA (AUS) and STEP OUT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CHISANYAMA (AUS) raced fitted with a tongue tie. Vet: AMATORI - returned blowing with a mild unilateral nasal discharge.
