ANANDA and DON CHRISTO lost 1 length. In view of the performance from SHORTSTOP, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Jockey van der Merwe reported that DON CHRISTO was injured in the starting stalls. Even though there was no video footage to support his claims, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Approaching the 200m DON CHRISTO, which lugged in, had to switch out off the heels of SHORTSTOP to continue its run. WILLIAM NICOL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DON CHRISTO - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SHORTSTOP - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: DELFTSHAVEN - abnormal heart rate. NIGHT MARCH - under 12 day's suspension.
