THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE ALLIANCE (A Andrews) was fractious in the stalls, reared, dislodged the rider, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) WARRIOR TIGER (J Bekker) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the report from the starter regarding DOUBLE ALLIANCE (A Andrews), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable. Suspension dates: 15/09/2020 to 21/09/2020 inclusive). DOUBLE ALLIANCE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. b) BARNEY MCGREW (D Ashby) and SHINNECOCK (*J Solomons) brushed on two occasions at the 700m. Thereafter, SHINNECOCK (*J Solomons) raced wide on the bend and into the straight. c) Approaching the 350m, SPRING AWAKENING (A Domeyer) rolled in and had to steady when close to the heels of DOUBLE ALLIANCE (A Andrews) which rolled out slightly. d) SHINNECOCK (*J Solomons), which hung in between the 400m and 200m, was shifted to the inside of AL BRAGGA (R Fourie) approaching the 300m. e) SHINNECOCK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
