SAIL FOR JOY broke through the front gate, was restrained by the rider, and returned to the start, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. In view of the Starter's report with regard to SAIL FOR JOY, this gelding was suspended for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading into the starting stalls. SAIL FOR JOY may not be presented for repassing during this period. In view of the performance from PROFIT RATIO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Hewitson reported that MAXIMIZER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. At approximately the 300m SAIL FOR JOY was carried out marginally by MAXIMISER, which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. STREETWEAR and GOLDEN MAN were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Wiid was questioned regarding the improved performance of STREETWEAR. He explained to the Board that this gelding had benefitted from its last run after having a 4-month lay-off. Vet: PROFIT RATIO - not striding out left front. MAXIMIZER - respiratory distress; abnormal respiratory noise. GOLDEN MAN and DELFTSHAVEN - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: CHEROKEE GREY - virus.
